While working in a sawmill in 2009, smartphones had just been made available. I was looking for a board footage calculator that would calculate the price per board and there wasn’t one available. I took it upon myself to create the app and put it on the Google Play Store. Afterward, I would go to different mills for lumber grading competitions and had people ask if I had seen that app.
It was a great feeling! In 2014, I went back to school to pursue that career, graduating from CSU Chico in 2019 with a BS in CS.
